What is GLEEN?
GLEEN promotes the benefits of energy efficiency in partnership with local authorities and other agencies.
GLEEN was an energy agency funded through the European Union SAVE II programme. It was established as a not-for-profit company in March 1999. Local councils jointly hold 20% of the company shares, the remainder being held by private sector companies who are also board members. Current board members include the fuel poverty charity, National Energy Action.
GLEEN currently provides secretariat services for the London HECA Forum, the group of local authority energy officers who co-ordinate and promote domestic energy efficiency in their boroughs.
