Tony Rose
Business Development Manager

Tony has been involved in energy efficiency in its widest sense since the early 1980s, when he obtained an architecture degree.  He spent three years working on community energy issues in Nottingham before obtaining a Masters Degree in energy at Cranfield University.  During that time he ran a welfare rights agency and worked as a Citizen’s Advice Bureau volunteer.  He published two papers on the energy use and expenditure in a group of pensioners’ flats in London.  He worked as an energy engineer at Croydon Council for 10 years; the last five as Energy Manager.

Tony has been central to the development of several major national initiatives, for example the development of energy rating of large housing stocks, mass self-auditing through the pan-London data gathering project (400,000 completed energy audits in two years).  Tony was a founding member of the London HECA Forum, and its first Chair.  In 2002 he completed the feasibility for a smart meter energy use feedback project, and in 2004 finally attracted funding to establish the first dual fuel Smart Metering project in the UK, Warm Plan.  In 2007, he designed and developed EPC Manager in consultation with social housing provider partners.  He joined Advent Energy Management in November 2011 as Business Development Manager.
